I have 8 Varilight V-Pro Smart WiFi dimmers in my house.
I've updated the firmware a few times in the past, but over the last few days I tried to update several to the current v2.8.55 but they are still on v2.8.52
I also have a Zamel ROW2m and I've just updated that from v2.8.52 to v2.8.53 to confirm that there is nothing stopping the process in my network.
Is v2.8.55 actually available yet?

There are two types of V-PRO dimmers available on the market, which differ in electronics. The older version you have has the FW updated to 2.8.52. Only the newer ones equipped with a more developed microcontroller can be updated to version 2.8.55.

That is annoying as I hoped the FW update would fix some issues I have.
When did that change to V-Pro hardware happen and is there a way of telling via MAC address or something else?

Before I replied to you, I checked in the logs what version you have and you have the older one. I suggest writing directly to the manufacturer. Perhaps they will offer you a solution.
